While the fingering number was shown more clearly it was at the cost of the notes. I too was always distracted slightly by the holes in the staff lines. I have to admit, that after testing with some print outs I now have reverted back to using non-white-out fingering. It looks like a badly-corrected paste-up from an old offset printing press. I think the white spaces make things confusing at the edges of the staff, especially if there are adjacent notes with ledger lines.Īesthetically, white space bothers me, too. my brain - prefer to read without holes and stops in the main road. ![]() When it comes to white space around fingerings in the score, I have my doubts.
